dc.description.abstract | Electrochemical biosensor plays significant role in the transition towards point-of-care (POC) diagnostic devices [1]. Over the years dilemma how to transfer biosensors from laboratory to practical POC testing has been on researchers’ minds. When considering simple, quick and affordable biosensors deployment in most cases sensor needs to be miniaturised [2]. In this study, we developed an electrochemical biosensor and further describe how POC testing applications can be realized in epidermal patch sensors. Common detection techniques applied to biosensors, such as chronoamperometry which is used to measure current–time dependence for the diffusion controlling process occurring on an electrode and cyclic voltammetry which is used to study electrochemical properties of a redox species in the solution, allow getting more detailed insights into the principles of sensing mechanisms [3, 4]. Using these methods and the established biosensor parameters, a noninvasive patch will be developed that measures the concentration of glucose from human sweat (Fig. 1.). [...] | eng |
