Conflicts have been around for as long as society has existed. In business, the presumptive risk of disputes should always be evaluated. Promptness in business is a great value, as any suspension can provoke great damage and a legal person can incur relevant losses. By using legal measures, the aim is to create the most favourable terms for mediation to be more obtainable and more constantly applied as a tool for resolving disputes between business entities. In European countries, there is no unequivocal opinion about what the mediation process itself should be, the procedure for appointing and accrediting mediators, what is allowed. The article discusses how Lithuania, and the world are succeeding in moving towards mediation, the practice in Lithuania is analysed, conclusions are made, and suggestions are made for measures that could encourage a more business-friendly attitude to the peaceful solution of conflicts and the formation of mediation.eng
