dc.description.abstract | Kiekvienais metais tiek Lietuvoje, tiek kitose pasaulio šalyse susiduriama su žiemos sezono problemomis automobilių keliuose. Keliai reikalauja ypatingos priežiūros žiemą. Šiuo metų laiku, esant nepakankamai kelių priežiūrai, ne tik kyla eismo įvykių pavojus, bet ir pasunkėja važiavimo sąlygos, labai padidėja degalų sąnaudos, automobilių amortizacija, pabrangsta vežimai. | lit |
dc.description.abstract | Winter season is not only the most dangerous to road users but also the most important, difficult and costly stage of road maintenance. Under unfavourable weather conditions it is necessary to take immediate and operative actions of road maintenance. The quality of organizing road maintenance operations determines the cost of traffic safety and negative environmental impact For these reasons, in 2012, the Lithuanian Road Administration initiated a three-year research project "The study of effective winter road maintenance of national significance roads in Lithuania". The main purpose of this research is to optimize road maintenance in winter and to determine the most effective means of combating slippery conditions. The research project is carried out by two institutions, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University Faculty of Environmental Engineering Road Research Institute and jSC F’roblematika. Based on the best-practice of foreign countries it is recommended to implement optimization measures for spreading salt on roads by introducing modern winter road maintenance technologies and implementing a stricter quality control. One of the ways to reduce the use of salts is the establishment of preventive road maintenance strategy. Preventive measures make it possible to more efficiently ensure the highest winter maintenance level with up to 55% lower amount of chemical materials. | eng |
