dc.description.abstract | The young generation of VGTU is actively interested in future technologies, starting complicated interdisciplinary research, combining mechanics, electronics and programming in their ambitious projects. The distantly guided robot hand, created by Vytenis Krūminis and Dalius Kazakevičius, surprised VGTU community. They guide the mechanical hand, using a special glove with modern technologies installed: the supersensitive optical sensors transmit signals in the form of electronic impulses to the robot hand via Bluetooth. After receiving these impulses, the mini motors, installed in the robot hand, move its fingers. “After final improvement of the remotely operated robot hand, it could have been more widely used. First, at the laboratories, carrying out dangerous for people work. Like all robots, it could also perform the repetitive tasks during the automated production; for example, carry details from one place to another. They could adjust the robot hand for the disabled people who lost their own hand. However, the original prototype should have been significantly improved,”– said Dalius Kazakevičius. | eng |
