Abstract

The Faculty of Transport Engineering, established in 1994, carries out three-level studies. Since 2011, in co-operation with Klaipėda University and Aleksandras Stulginskis University we are organising joint PhD studies of Transport Engineering in Technology Science. Together with the Faculty of Business Management of VGTU, we are implementing PhD Management studies in Social Sciences. In collaboration with TIF scientists and foreign partners, the Competence Centre of Intermodal Transport and Logistics, strengthened the positions of the Faculty, being participant in the projects of European Commission’s 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programmes and carrying out significant functions of the East-West Transport Corridor Association’s Secretariat and Research Centre. We are planning the participation in the international, national, MITA, “Horizon 2020” and the Baltic Sea region projects for the nearest future. We hope that the students’ team of our faculty will soon create an electric sports car, following the requirements of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
