Nepaisant to, šalies transporto sistemos potencialas – dar neišnaudotas.lit
dc.description.abstract“A developed transportation system helps to ensure the production, trade, tourism, recreation and all other processes of public interest of a country,”– says Prof. Dr. Ramūnas Palšaitis of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. There are 3 million people in Lithuania with registered 25 thousand heavy load vehicles, carrying about 24 tonnes of cargo simultaneously. Because of small flows and low consumption, Lithuanian people do not need it. Our transport business, like other businesses, are not limited to carrying goods only to and from Lithuania, but also working throughout Europe and in Asia. One of the most important priorities of the transport sector is the strengthening of the positions of a “third-party logistics”, as an intermediary for the trade between the West and the East. We could consider the current situation the advantage of a small country – about 5 percent of the total workforce of Lithuania is working in the transport and logistics sector, creating from 10 to 12 percent of GDP. These results demonstrate a very high efficiency.”eng
