dc.description.abstract„Daug santvarkų „išgyveno“ Niutono, Paskalio, Archimedo bei kiti fizikos dėsniai. Jie iki šiol nepasikeitė, kaip ir daugybos lentelė“, – sako originalių konstrukcijų projektų autorius, prof. habil. dr. Gediminas Marčiukaitis.lit
If you visit the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, you will be surprised when your guide, explaining about the pride of the Museum – the old foundations of the Grand Dukes’ Palace - will mention the names of the researchers of VGTU. The shell framework, covering the archaeological remains at the southern, western and eastern parts of the Lower Castle of the Grand Dukes’ Palace, has been created with participation of VGTU researchers. The project leader, Prof. Habil. Dr. Gediminas Marčiukaitis, who designed the framework together with Prof. Dr. Juozas Valivonis and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bronius Jonaitis, the renowned specialists in reinforced concrete structures, suggested the idea how to protect the vestige of the former Chambers. “Designing the constructions, we used the simplest law of physics and mechanics – the action is equal to the counteraction. It is simple, cheap and beautiful. There is a saying: simplicity is the most precious thing, and this project exactly confirmed it. If we had not known the simple laws of physics, we would not have taken such a good solution at the Palace of the Grand Dukes,” – Gediminas Marčiukaitis told about the unique VGTU project.eng
