Kuo toliau, tuo labiau atrodo, kad žinau mažiau, ypač kai pažvelgiu į tai, ką reikėtų žinoti. Tas žinau ir turėčiau žinoti santykis auga ne mano naudai... dc.description.abstractIs it possible, that famous researchers of fundamental science, who know much more than ordinary people about the laws of the universe, sometimes feel that they know nothing? “Yes, I am experiencing this feeling all the time. I felt knowing a lot, after graduating from the University and first year delivering lectures on construction mechanics. The more I live, the more it seems to me that I know less, especially as compared to what one should know. The ratio of I know, and I should know is growing not in my favour… I learn more and more, what I do not know,”- says Prof. Rimantas Kačianauskas, the actual member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, famous researcher of Materials Mechanics, in the computer showing, how the particles method under his research is gaining popularity in the world. According to the Professor, new discoveries are immerging on the borderline of sciences, as well as the recently popular classical image of mechanics science. Paradoxically, the controversies of the fundamental science are revealing themselves on this borderline, too.eng
