Abstract

During sixty years, the University has joined the international arena of science and education, and has been making a great impact on the development and economic processes of Lithuania and the Baltic region. Our University enters the top 50 universities in the region and is the leader of technical universities of Lithuania in the international ranking “QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe and Central Asia”. VGTU is the only University from 14 universities of Lithuania on the “U-Multirank”, evaluated by the ten highest scores, only eight percent of all world universities achieving such good results. We are exceptional leaders in the area of technology science in Lithuania, cooperating with more than four hundred business partners in all Lithuania. There are ten strong faculties at VGTU, majority of which are the leaders in their own field in Lithuania, thirty-three laboratories for scientific research, with the best experimental equipment installed in the Eastern Europe, uniting a strong intellectual potential of engineers. The researchers of Open Access Civil Engineering Research Centre have already offered more than six-hundred- fifty major services and research projects for business and science representatives. We are performing research in various fields, directly influencing the environment and the economy of Lithuania.
