dc.description.abstract | Kelio ar dangos rūšis turėtų būti parenkama taip, kad ji įsilietų į natūralią aplinką ir atspindėtų natūralų kraštovaizdį bei istorinę aplinkos struktūrą. Būtent dėl šios priežasties grindinys dažniausiai įkomponuojamas istorinėse ir reprezentacinėse miestų vietose, taip išlaikant aplinkos autentiškumą ir estetiką. dc.description.abstract | In Lithuania, small element paving traditionally adorns historical and representative spaces of the cities and towns. However, due to properties of this kind of pavement, its usability should not be limited to aesthetics. Abroad, for several decades, small element pavement successfully functions as a traffic regulating and controlling tool. Easy reachability of base layers and underground infrastructure, the ability to re-resurface the same small paving elements or change them without destroying great area of surface, turns this type of pavement to quite cost-effective alternative to other pavers. Although, in this kind of pavements, the main road or street pavement characteristic - roughness - does not meet the standards for fast traffic, these coatings can be installed in places where speed is limited, or in those sections where the speed limits are ignored. We agree with the statement that the driver of the car instinctively changes driving style when audible and sensory stimuli in the vehicle are hit. The driver, in order to reduce the discomfort and increased noise in the car, naturally decelerates. However, in terms of small element pavement, as a speed control tool in sections of streets or roads, an extensive studies should be carry out for Lithuanian conditions. | eng |
