Rotation trajectories of the solid ferromagnetic sphere are investigated in the paper. Rotation angle of the sphere is controlled by piezoelectric cylinder type actuator. Three contact points located on the top surface of the cylinder are used to rotate the sphere. Vibrations of the piezoelectric cylinder are excited using three sections of the electrodes. Numerical simulation of the piezoelectric cylinder was performed to analyze elliptical trajectories of the contact point motion. In order to control direction of sphere rotation, mathematical model of the contacting forces of the actuator was built and numerical experiments were performed. Prototype piezoelectric deflector and measurement setup was made and experimental study was carried out to verify rotation trajectory of the ferromagnetic sphere.eng
