dc.description.abstractThe procedure for the analysis of bending vibrations of a plate by using photo-elastic coatings is presented. The pattern of fringes is formed by using the stroboscopic method and also in the process of time averaging. In the latter case the contrast of the picture is decreased. The density of the fringes in the time averaged pattern practically coincides with the stroboscopic pattern. Therefore maximum stresses in the process of vibration can be evaluated from time averaged is isochromatics using fringe counting techniques.eng
