Abstract

The data given above are the result of many years’ research work. Today we can already confirm that the laws observed and new principles for the solution of the problem are applicable not only for ceramic products but also for other porous walling materials (e.g. primarily for the solution of problems of frost resistance in use and the service life of various rendering materials). Today Drafts are already being drawn up for a new methodological Standard (including that for various materials), in which the special method or its main principles are used for determination of the frost resistance. Moreover we have accumulated adequate experience in the development and co-ordination of methodological and other Standards, in the provision of a unique type of test apparatus and in the introduction of our results directly into laboratory practice for the quality control of building materials, We think we could be of service also in drawing up the EN 771-1 and EN 772. In the event of interest of the experts of the CEN and the corresponding TC, we could make a specific contribution to this work.
