dc.description.abstract | In order to determine the productivity of production resources in construction companies not only labour output, return on capital, profitability and other traditional criteria may be used, but also use of production potential influenced by capital resources according to their importance to social-economic needs. During the period of 2000–2007 work and capital productivity criteria, taking into account the official construction resources price index looks satisfactorily, however, taking into account the real increase in construction prices, which is only partly indexed by price index, the values of criteria will be significantly worse. The changes of amounts of completed construction works according to the main construction groups in natural units are significantly lower then the changes expressed in monetary terms. The structure of completed construction works according to the main types of construction works and building types do not satisfy social – economic needs for reconstruction of housing, engineering constructions and especially environmental objects, related to the EU financial assistance funds, construction, economic-social development of Lithuanian regions and other important parameters. Productivity of production resources influenced by availability of production resources is not sufficient for the needs according to the Long Term Development Strategy for the Year 2015, Lithuanian housing development and other documents. In order to increase the productivity of production resources in construction companies it is important to evaluate the changes in labour and capital markets influenced by Lithuanian membership in the European Union. These changes require significant investments in human capital, production technologies and other work means of new generation. | eng |
