Abstract

Universities constantly face new challenges and adapt themselves to new tasks. Nowadays, the most important task for us – a technical university – is to build a new approach as technology progresses. Indeed, technological advancement affects all areas of our lives, including the higher education. I am very happy for those who have joined our University. It proves that they understand – education is a long term investment. We have to recognize that education is an immeasurable asset. Educated people always have been and still are very much needed. I wish our employees strength and understanding that in the midst of the higher education reform we cannot just wait, we must be active participants of the process and show the leadership. We must act decisively, and be fully aware that only the best and the strongest shall survive. We have the tools to grow stronger. I invite you to concentrate our efforts. This reform needs to be based on solid background to reach even higher quality of higher education. This is what we should strive for.
