dc.description.abstract | Šveicarijos federalinio technologijos instituto (ETH Zurich) profesorius dr. Kai Uwe Schmittas šiais metais Vilniaus Gedimino technikos universitete (VGTU) viešėjo ir paskaitas apie traumos biomechaniką skaitė jau ketvirtą kartą. Traumos biomechanika yra mokslinių tyrimų sritis, kuri nagrinėja įvairių sužeidimų biomechaniką, t. y. kokie mechanizmai ir priežastys lemia vienokią ar kitokią traumą. Šios žinios yra svarbios norint projektuoti žmonėms saugias transporto priemones, kurti saugius sporto treniruoklius bei reabilitacijos priemones, techninės pagalbos priemones neįgaliesiems. | lit |
dc.description.abstract | This year professor dr. Kai-Uwe Schmitt from ETH Zurich (Switzerland) visited Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) and gave lectures on trauma biochanics for the fourth time. Trauma biomechanics is an important scientific field which explores biomechanics of various injuries, i.e. what are trauma mechc and causes. This knowledge is important for design of safe transportation means developing and designing safe training equipment and rehabilitation devices asistive technologies for disabled. At first sight, the professor’s research field seems very broad - from snowboarding traumas to elderly people driving. However professor points out that irrespective of the deeper research areas, all topic the same underlying approach to human body - from mechanics point of view. Our conversation with the professor from Switzerland is about innovations in vehicle safety, his interest in trauma biomechanics, and passion of teaching and working with students. | eng |
