State aid (subsidies) to private companies is one of the means of government intervention in the market economy. The main task of the government subsidies is to stimulate the activity of the business enterprises. An in depth analysis of the size and form of state aid is required to determine the main factors that influence the effect of state aid. Due to the complexity of the task the multiple criteria evaluation methods are used. The results of evaluation show that aid intensity is the most important factor which influences the stimulation effect. The size of the subsidies has negative impact on the effect of aid in case it is granted to employee training. In case of bigger subsidies the size has no impact on the stimulation effect. In order to increase the efficiency of the state funds the government have to decrease the size of the subsidies and increase the aid intensity levels.eng
