dc.description.abstractReliability is the main criteria of the quality for the locomotives, diesel and electric trains. The reliability of traction rolling stock - is the property to retain all parameters of the traction rolling stock properties in the estimated exploitation time interval [1]. If diesel locomotive's reliability level isn't high enough, it can't realize other quality criteria, for example purpose or economy. Low reliability level decreases traction rolling stock economic efficiency, increases cargo and passengers transportation costs. It is possible to claim, that one of the main Lithuania's railway transport problem is to sustain reliability level of locomotives, diesel and electric trains. This problem is becoming more and more important, because of the development of traction rolling stock equipments, usage of modern electronic regulating systems, traction rolling stock usage intensity. The system of the trac- tion rolling stock reliability data collection and processing Database is described by logic algorithm or locomotive malfunction diagram in this investigation work [2]. This model describes all main objects detection, object characteristics, and their connections. Suggested locomotives malfunctions registra- tion system is split into four parts: selection of the rolling stock, registration of malfunctions and registration of the locomotives run and calculation of reliability parameters. In the first part the full list of locomotives is given and selection variants are suggested. The second part is for the registration of malfunctions. Runs of locomotives are given in the third part. The main traction rolling stock reliability parameters are calculated and shown as diagrams and tables in the fourth part.Reliability data storage, data safety and access- ibility problems are easy solved when using complex database. The user of the system can add, modify database, also the data search and processing is possible.eng
