It is stated in the article that after the reconstruction of the House of the Lithuanian Independence Signatories the microclimate of its basement is excessively damp causing damage to the building. On the basis of full-scale test results, it has been determined that the protection of the basement exterior walls from damp is insufficient. Temperature analysis performed showed excessive temperature differencies in the basement space causing a great thermal discomfort. On the basis of the investigation results, the conclusion can be drawn that the basement in the House of the Lithuanian Independence Signatories is unsuitable for a public building.eng
