dc.description.abstractThe article focuses on regulation of new architecture in a historic environment determined by legal documents of international organizations: the European Council, UNESCO and ICOMOS. The aim of the article is to find out the evolution of the position of these organizations on regulating new architecture in a historic environment. The author determined three stages of the evolution (1964-1972; 1975-1985; 1987-2000) and, for each of them, specified the conception of heritage, principles of conserving urban heritage and introducing new architecture into a historic environment, and recommended methods and means of introducing new architecture into a historic environment characteristic of each period.eng
