dc.description.abstractcontinuous study of project management, both as art and science. It is known that the economy of today is constantly changing; therefore, timely response to these changes is only possible if the intensity and character of the changes are being thoroughly investigated. It is possible to state that project and programme management is a tool enabling businessmen and professionals to adequately respond to such changes. [35] The proportion of an organization’s resources that is committed to programmes and projects is increasing. Senior executives now have to balance carefully the management of existing business activities, and the recourse and focus on change activities. The impacts and conflicts of investments in programmes and projects with the current business operations must be understood and managed carefully.[36] Successful project and program implementation and management depends not only on competency of projects’ and programs’ supervisors and team members, but also on appropriate program management methodology and application of maintenance software. Often a lot of money invested in software installation does not bring the desired effect for the company. Sometimes such investment in software installation never gives yield and software is only partly used. Thus the company should properly evaluate its readiness level – the level of project management maturity in an organization – before acquiring and installing software for projects and programs management.
