dc.description.abstractWhen asked about the success formula, Stasys Dailydka, a Director General of a company “Lithuanian Railways” answered by a wordly wisdom – be truthful and appreciate surrounding people. “My rule number one is to be a decent person, treat other people decently and have the same people by my side. It might be very difficult to be truthful, especially for a leader. Nevertheless, I try to stick to this rule in every situation. Otherwise, I cannot expect any respect from other people. Young people think that they will go forward and there will not be a need for many things. There will be a need for everything. As the Director General of “Lithuanian Railways” puts it, in the course of many years he has been trying to attract more young people. “Usually, a young person is energetic, has abilities and desire. This is the reason why he or she becomes a professional faster. He or she might do more mistakes but at the same time is able to correct them at a greater speed and go forward safely. However, I believe that next to young person, there should always be one or two seniors, who could possibly explain what should be done or should not be done or how the things could be improved. I try to combine different personal charackter traits”, says Stasys Dailydka, whose company is full of young people.
