Architektūros terminai lietuvių ir anglų kalbose: bendrybės ir skirtybės

Abstract

Lietuvių kalbos terminijos problemos yra nagrinėjamos šiai sričiai skirtame leidinyje „Terminologija“, konferencijose, žymių terminologų darbuose. Juose gilinamasi į terminų darybos būdus, terminų sinonimiją, variantiškumą, pateikimą vienkalbiuose ar dvikalbiuose žodynuose. Leidžiami įvairių specialiųjų sričių žodynai, daromi nauji terminai, galintys keisti skolinius ar įvardyti naujai atsiradusius dalykus. Terminų tema ypač aktuali žodynų rengėjams, ieškantiems gimtojoje kalboje atitikmenų kitos kalbos terminams. Nėra architektūros žodyno lietuvių kalba. Architektūros terminai išbarstyti po įvairius vienkalbius ar dvikalbius žodynus. Šiame straipsnyje aptariama, kaip lietuvių ir anglų kalbų lingvistines ypatybes atspindi terminai, kokia yra architektūros terminų kilmė bei jų raiškos būdai.

Problems of Lithuanian terminology are discussed in the special publication “Terminology”, at conferences and in the works of famous terminologists. They analyze the ways of term-building, synonymy of terms, their variations, their presentation and definition in monolingual or bilingual dictionaries. Dictionaries of various special fields are being published, new terms which may change borrowings or name newly-appearing objects are being coined. The subject of terms is especially acute to compilers of dictionaries searching in their native language for equivalents of a foreign term. There is no dictionary of architecture in Lithuanian. Terms of architecture are scattered in different dictionaries. The aim of this paper is to find out how linguistic peculiarities of the Lithuanian and the English languages reflect themselves on the level of terms, to survey the origin of architectural terms in these languages.
