Abstract

The Government of the Republic of Lithuania has issued a document concerning Lithuanian architecture policy. The document defines architectural and urban values of state importance, outlines the main problems in the field and foresees the purposeful methods to solve these problems official impulses to implement the document has already come about, i.e. the legislation of the Architects' Chamber has been adopted. The event hasinspired a non-formal discussion between Gintautas Tiškus (rep-resentative ef the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania Kęstutis Pempe (Chairman of the Lithuanian Architect's Union) and representatives of Archi forma. The meeting has been committed to discuss the uprise ot the Lithuanian architecture policy. The policy is supposed to secure architectural activities against negative deformations that oct ur in contemporary societies. The conversation resumed the importance of education and coherent work as well as discussions and cooperation between public figures. The architects and their works are supposed to bear much more public spirit because of being in the position ot public interests and their implementation.
