The performance of a person on a job is considered as a function of two kinds of variables. One of these refers to the ability or skill of the individual to perform the job and the second refers to his motivation to use this ability or skill in the actual performance of job. The effects of each of these variables (ability and motivation) on performance is dependent upon the existing amount of the other. It is the second of these two variables - motivation - that is the basic concern of this article. The problem of motivation of employees is as old as organized activity itself, but it has only been within the last half century that the scientific method has been brought to bear on its solution. This relatively short period of time has seen the beginnings of attempts to apply the conceptual and methodological tools of the behavioral sciences, particularly psychology, to the relationship between man's motivation and his work as well as to the managerial issues involved in that relationship. The question of what motivates workers to perform effectivelyis not an easy one to answer. The purpose of the present research was to analyse the job's motivation of the people in the modern organization and to find out whether the motivation of the people reflects the theories of the motivation. As a result a few suggestions for improvement of motivation were formulated.eng
