Dr. Valdas Bubelevičius, an Associate Professor at the Architecture faculty of the VGTU, is the creator of more than a hundred sculptures. He is well known for his cycle of sculptures ‘The Keys to Infinity‘. The famous sculptor laughs ‘‘if you start to think about Infinity, it‘s time to look for the madhouse. When art theoreticians and professors ask me if I am creating infinity, my answer is no, I am only making the keys to unlock Infinity. The keys are not for me, I have no time for that, besides I may be dead by then‘‘. The Associate Professor of Sculpture does not ask his students to make their sculptures. Instead, he suggests his students generate ideas and create models of their work in order to prepare for the cooperation, as professional sculptors, with contest organisers and customers. In this way the architects of the future acquire the skills of planning and how to present their ideas.‘‘Architecture is the management of space and a person‘s way of life and sculpture is the emphasis, the esthetic charge of an idea and the material used. For my students, I emphasize the fact that we live in Lithuania, where the tribes of the Balts once lived‘‘ – says Bubelevičius and invites future architects to respect this influence.eng
