Abstract

After restitution of independence of Lithuania it become very important to reorganize the system of transport and the national economy seeking to integrate republic into the system of West Europe. Therefore, preparation of the alternative plan of transport system development of Lithuania will require establishment of direct and indirect influence of every significant factor as clear as possible. All processes in the transport system development are characterized by their dynamic features, and therefore, seeking to simplify calculations and mace them more easy, the values of variables must be determined for the average parameters. It is necessary to divide transport planning in to separate parts linked each with other. While creating the transport network long term planning system the control of all social-economic, technical and territorial forecasts is necessary. The main goals of criterion of forecasting models is to make the model of republic social - economic characteristics and to simulate their influence on the transport system characteristics for specified years in the future. Other problems of republic transport system development planning are also discussed.
