The possibility of using the waste from the production of mineral wool (MW) and nepheline-syenite (NS) in the production of ceramics in order to improve the physical and mechanical properties as well as the frost resistance of the samples was investigated. The use of NS in amounts 5 – 15% increases the compression strength of the samples to 17% and reduces the density, water absorption, and ultrasound speed in the samples to 5.2, 12.5 and 7% after firing at 1060°C. An increase in the NS amount due to an increase in the number of pores with diameters 0.02 – 0.1 m in the samples promotes diminishes the damage to samples during freezing–thawing processeseng
