Abstract

Šis leidinys apie tai, kokie turtai, jau naudojami ir dar laukiantys savojo laiko, slypi Lietuvos gelmėse, kaip jie surandami ir išgaunami, kaip vėliau rekultivuojami. Knyga prasideda tolimos istorijos apžvalgomis ir Lietuvoje rastų fosilijų pristatymu, po to apžvelgiami šiandienos karjerai ir durpynai.

The purpose of this book is to show what treasures lie hidden deep beneath the surface of Lithuania, how they are found and extracted, how quarries are restored to blossoming meadows, forests, and lakes, and sometimes even acquire a new purpose. This book is also a glimpse through the windows of the quarries into the bowels of the Earth, into its remote geological past, and into something that is hidden from our eyes even though it is always here, below our feet.
