| lit |
dc.description.abstract | Modular pavements also known as precast concrete pavements (PCP) have been investigated occasionally over past 40 years, however more attention are paid to them only the last decade. Researchers from Road Research Institute of Vilnius Gediminas technical university are implementing a national project "Modular pavements" (2018-2021) which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund according to the supported activity "Research Projects Implemented by World-class Researcher Groups" under Measure No. 01.2.2-LMT-K-718. The aim of this project is to expand applied knowledge that is essential to the development and commercialisation of functional modular pavements of transport infrastructure. In order to reach this aim, the following objective has has been set out: to conduct scientific research on the creation and development of transport infrastructure modular pavements. As a result of these activities, it is planned to develop modular pavement prototypes that will be employed in the economic of country and will have commercial potential: they will ensure the durability of the infrastructure and will reduce the need implement periodical maintenance and repairs. It will reduce the traffic jams caused by intervention in the transport infrastructure by implementing repair and rehabilitation works and assure an uninterruption into traffic. | eng |
