Abstract

The objectives and tasks of the job were to investigate the relevance and impact of the transit transportation on the expansion of Lithuania‘s economy by formulating theoretical assumptions and methodical solutions of the transit expansion. The following tasks were raised and solved seeking to implement the objectives: 1. To perform the analysis of researches of Lithuanian and foreign scientists and hypotheses proposed on the prerequisites of formation of international and transit shipments streams, to analyze different scientific approaches (from the positions of technology, environmental issues, politics, law, economics and social environment) to the cargos shipments (and transit at the same time) as an integral process and to generalize the data. 2. To analyze the Lithuania’s transportation sector and to reveal its importance to Lithuania's economics and cooperation, to pay particular attention to transit and to determine its possible quantitative and qualitative changes; to perform analysis of the factors (legal, technical, political, etc.) determining the conditions and expansion of transit. 3. To perform researches of Russian, German and Lithuanian transportation and expeditionary companies and to expand the conceptual possibilities of the modeling of subsystems of evaluation of negative and beneficial impact of transit. 4. To perform an economic evaluation of the impact of transit transportation on Lithuania‘s economy expansion based on the researches made.
