Postmodernizmo idėjų raiška XX a. pab. – XXI a. pr. Lietuvos architektūroje

Abstract

Disertacijoje nagrinėjama Lietuvos postmodernizmo architektūra. Tyrimo tikslas yra atskleisti, kaip šis reiškinys, XX a. pab. jį perkėlus į sovietinį kontekstą, buvo lokaliai suvokiamas ir vertinamas; kaip ir kokiais būdais šio laikotarpio objektai Lietuvoje atliepia esmines postmodernizmo idėjas, kiek šios idėjos yra ypatingos ir specifinės; kokios buvo jų raiškos ypatybės; kaip jos nulėmė architektūros objektų koncepcijas, formas, estetinę raišką. Darbe sprendžiami šie uždaviniai: apžvelgiant postmodernizmo sampratą Vakarų filosofijoje bei kultūros teorijoje, atskleisti jos perkėlimo į architektūrą ypatybes; išnagrinėti, kaip postmodernizmas Lietuvoje buvo suvokiamas kultūros lauke, kaip jis buvo vertinamas architektų, architektūros kritikų ir visuomenės; nustatyti postmo-dernizmo architektūros diskurso Lietuvos architektūroje formavimosi aplinkybes, santykį su XX a. pabaigos sociokultūriniais procesais, jo dėsnin¬gumus ir ypatybes; įvardinti reikšmingiausius postmodernizmo architektūros objektus Lietuvoje, ištirti svarbiausius jų raiškos bruožus; atskleisti, kaip postmodernizmo idėjos įtakojo Lietuvos architektūros raidą, kokie post¬modernizmo bruožai integravosi į architektų kūrybą, išnagrinėti jų vertę vadovaujantis chronologiniais, estetiniais, sociokultūriniais kriterijais. Mokslinio darbo naujumas – kompleksiškai ištirta postmodernizmo architektūros Lietuvoje raiška, nustatyti jos raidos pokyčiai, įvertintos meninės raiškos savybės. Kitas naujumo aspektas yra ne tik estetinė, bet ir socialinė šio reiškinio analizė, gilinantis į tai, kokiomis visuomenės gyvenimo aplinkybėmis buvo aktuali postmodernizmo architektūra. Nagrinėjamo laikotarpio pastatų bruožų ir savybių analizė naudinga XX a. pab. – XXI a. pr. Lietuvos architektūros menotyrinio ištirtumo plėtrai ir turi edukacinę reikšmę. Ištirti postmodernizmo architektūros pavyzdžiai ir jų vertingųjų savybių nustatymas padeda šio laikotarpio archi¬tektūros dokumentavimo, saugojimo ir vertinimo procesams, tyrimo metu gauti rezultatai gali būti pritaikyti naujausiojo paveldo vertingųjų savybių metodikai pagerinti.

This dissertation investigates postmodern architecture in Lithuania. The research aims to reveal how this phenomenon of the end of the 20th century was being transferred into the Soviet context, and how it was locally perceived and valued; how did the objects of this period in Lithuanian architecture reflect the fundamental ideas of postmodernism, in which ways were these ideas special and specific; what were the circumstances of their “domestication”; how they determine the concepts, forms, and aesthetic expressions of architectural objects. The following tasks have been formulated: to examine the concept of postmodernism in Western philosophy and cultural theory, to reveal the features of its transfer to architecture; to examine how postmodernism in Lithuania was perceived in the field of culture, and how as it was interpreted by architects, architectural critics and society in general; to identify the formation conditions of the discourse of architectural postmodernism in Lithuanian architecture, its relation to sociocultural processes of the end of the 20th century, to examine its regularities and characteristics; to specify the most illustrative architectural objects of postmodernism in Lithuania, to study the most important features of their expression; to reveal how postmodern ideas influenced the development of Lithuanian architecture, how the features of postmodernism were integrated into the work of the architects, to examine their value based on chronological, aesthetic and socio-cultural criteria. The novelty of the thesis lies in an attempt to comprehensively investigate the expression of postmodern architecture in Lithuania, to identify changes in its development and evaluate the qualities of its artistic expressions. Not only an aesthetic, but also social analysis of this phenomenon going deeper into social conditions, under which postmodern architecture was relevant, provides another aspect of novelty to this research. The analysis of features and characteristics of buildings of the period under research is useful for exploration of Lithuanian architecture of the end of the 20th c. – beginning of the 21st c., in the aspect of history and theory of arts, and has an educational significance. The examples of postmodern architecture and identification of their valuable features helps the processes of documentation, preservation and evaluation of this period architecture. The results obtained during the study can be adapted to improve the listing methodology of the new heritage.
