Darbo apimtis – 56 p. teksto be priedų, 36 iliustr., 22 lent., 31 bibliografinis šaltinis. Atskirai pridedamas vienas darbo priedas. According to European design standards, there are circular reinforcement sections and strands of three or seven wires considered in determination of transfer length of the prestressed concrete structures. Purpose of this Master’s thesis is to determine what are the differences between three and seven wire strands in transfer length, since there is no distinction between those type of strands according to design standards. This thesis consists of three main chapters: analysis of factors affecting transfer length and a review of experimental studies found in the literature, experimental determination of transfer length using three and seven wire strands and a comparison of experimental and theoretical results. In the first chapter there is provided a review of concrete and reinforcement bond mechanism and analysis of various studies in order to clear the principles of stress transfer into concrete. Experimental study of transfer length using three and seven wire strands is provided in the second chapter and evaluation of various coefficients that may differ in three and seven wire strands according to experimental results are provided in the third. Thesis consists of introduction, three main chapters, conclusions and references. Overall 56 pages of text without appendix, 36 figures, 22 tables and 31 references. Appendix is added separately.
