Investigation of the laser beam influence on the parts built by SLS

The use of laser systems in the manufacture of complex geometric form is more and more popular. This happens because of the rapid prototyping systems such as selective laser sintering (SLS), direct laser metal sintering (DLMS), selective laser melting (SLM), that allow not only the production of parts with complex geometric form, but also to fast, cheap and effective restoration of damaged places of the parts. Despite the many advantages of the above mentioned technologies, details obtained on the basis of these technologies are characterized by different defects. The laser beam main modes changing influence on the parts built by SLS was studied in the paper. In the work is discussed the influence of changes in the technical parameters of the laser beam on the physical, mechanical and chemical parameters of samples. The laser operating conditions change influences the energy E given surface area S manufacturing content. In this way, the correct selection of materials substances couples make and the correct setting mode of the unit values can be successfully changed manufacturing body surface layers of the microstructure and chemical composition of the phase control and diffusive processes in the laser beam impact area.
