„Amberton Green SPA Druskininkai“ – viešbutis su aliuziją į pušynus ir sapnus
Abstract
Architektai: UAB ,,Arches": Edgaras Neniikis, Enrika Geštautaitė, Rūta Vitonytė, Arūnas Liola, Rolandas Liola, Toma Bačiulytė (interjero architektė). Kurorto g. 3 Druskininkai, 2019-2020 m., Ievos Saudargaitės fotografijos. The hotel is comprised of separate volumes that are withdrawn from the nearby resort, leaving an opening in place of the previous conjoined arrangement in order to match the locally dominating detached building style and scale. The hotel employs a stepped shape, where each upper level is slightly off-set inrward, thus visually evoking a more human-friendly scale: if you were to look at the building while walking along the river Nemunas, it would appear as a two-storey structure, despite actually having four storeys. An accurate reading and interpretation of the local environment is evident in the architectural solutions and has led to a well thought-out result. The narrative weaves in and out between sleep and wakefulness, setting the mood for a restful experience, which is likely what a visitor would be expecting. It is nice to see that despite the obvious opportunity to increase the size of the building, its concept was preserved, while financial limitations often plaguing so manv proiects have not significantly affected the quality, of the architectural language in this case.
