Abstract
The book, published under an intriguing title that immediately raises questions, is the first anthology dedicated to architecture theory in the Lithuanian language. The book's editor, compiler and translator of the texts Dr Almantas Samalavičius created the publication with the aim to present the latest architectural ideas and concepts of sustainability that would hopefully be noticed and later implemented by Lithuanian architecture theorists, architects and architecture students as well as to showcase new lines, of thinking as opposed to the established and, according to the editor, predominant modernist and postmodernist monoculture. The publication comprises a dozen-or-so texts that observe the artificial environment from a holistic perspective, analysing and critiquing the legacy of modernist and postmodernist thought, while also absorbing and integrating the latest knowledge provided bv natural science.
