Abstract
The collection contains descriptions of the practical application of theoretical knowledge during the heat treatment of materials, cold working, cutting, welding, and soldering, setting the physical properties of materials. The works are intended for students who have chosen the module “Materials Science I” to deepen their knowledge of the module by the active participation in their work and monitoring, measuring and evaluating the results obtained or interpretation of observed phenomena or processes. This work or portions thereof may be reprinted or copied in classroom quantities by teachers for use in their classes in which they are using the accompanying material from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Such copies may not be sold and further distribution is prohibited. Requests for permission should be addressed to the Department of Mechanics and Materials Engineering of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, J. Basanavičiaus str. 28, Vilnius, Lithuania.
