R. Jasevičius – apie bandymus ištirti viruso dinamiką
Santrauka
The pandemic caused by COVID-19 has become a major and topical issue over the last few years. It is certainly also of particular relevance in the field of scientific research, and scientists at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) have not been behind either – they conduct a research to virtually replicate the dynamics of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which is capable of infecting a cell, in a variety of specific environments. “Few studies of the dynamics of the virus itself using mechanistic science have been found. Therefore, complex, detailed research is still needed to study the interaction of the virus,” explains Raimondas Jasevičius, a scientist at the VILNIUS TECH Computational Modelling Laboratory, explaining the relevance of his work, noting that most of the scientific literature still focuses on medication development and improvement of human emotional state during the pandemic. We talk to him about the studies that have been carried out, possibilities of their application and the prospects for the future.
