A. Zigmontienė: „Karo Ukrainoje metu gresia ekologinė katastrofa“
Abstract
The whole world is following the news from Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia on the night of February 24. It is a social, economic and humanitarian catastrophe that takes human toll and changes fates harshly. However, another long-term consequence of the war in Ukraine is an ecological disaster. According to Aušra Zigmontienė, associated professor of the Department of Environmental Protection and Water Engineering at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH), bombs are exploding, buildings are collapsing, communications are being destroyed, and the natural environment is being damaged in Ukraine, to name just a few. How will all this affect the country’s environmental situation?
