Noise pollution is one of the many problems in the transport sector. In this article, experimental studies of the harmonic spectrum and sound levels of the automobile Volkswagen Golf MK VI R 2.0 FSI original and modified exhaust system were carried out. The tests were done with the car operating at maximum load torque and its internal combustion engine rotating at a speed from 2000 to 7000 rpm. After analyzing the measurements, it was found that the harmonic composition of the sound of the automobile with modified exhaust system has higher harmonics, and their sound pressure level is 23.53% higher, than automobile with original exhaust system.
