Unstable world, constantly changing job market, globalisation processes encourage the universities to develop new programmes of study. Vilnius Gediminas Technical University started new study programs in Software Engineering, Finance Engineering, and Industrial Product Design. What were the difficulties for the program developers and what was the reason for developing these non-traditional study programs? Was the policy of our University to expand, promote traditional (famous old) VGTU study programs, or to create new, corresponding to the latest requirements of the market? Prof. Dr. Romualdas Kliukas, Vice-Rector for Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dalius Mažeika, the Head of the Department of Information Systems, Assoc.
