Rail vehicle motion smoothness analysis with damaged wheel
Abstract
This paper is deal with the analysis of the rail vehicle smoothing motion. The paper includes two parts. The first part of the paper addresses to the problem of wheel-flat origin and its consequence during rail vehicle running on a track. There is also included a system for measurement of forces and accelerations when a rail vehicle running on the given track section. The system for detection of damaged wheels of wagons which uses the Lithuanian Railways is introduced. The second part of this paper is focused on the any rail vehicle properties assessment by means of computer simulation while one wheel is damaged. On the base of the theory in the first part the rail vehicle with wheel-flat is modelled, simulated and assessed. There have been assessed the accelerations signals in the selected location during passenger car running on the straight track. There have been also assessed accelerations signals in that location for various stiffness of coil spring of the primary and secondary suspension.
