| dc.description.abstract | Heavy vehicle traffic as well as their wheel loads affecting road pavement surface are the basic component for all pavement design procedures. The main objective of this study was to determine the axial load and gross weight correlation corresponding to vehicle type, and update tire and contact pressure to pavement surface. During th is research the traffic weight-in-motion data from two years and two stations was analyzed. According to maximum allowable gross weight all types of vehicles was classified to net-weight, semi-loade d, fully-loaded, and over loaded. The percentage distribution of axial load was determined regarding to vehicle type and its load class. The new look at traffic load analysis was presented in this paper, which allows to forecast axial loads considering determined percentage distribution and traffic volu me data from regular recorders with assumption of vehicle loading class. | eng |
