The chosen articles provide information about the means and ways of adaptation of old buildings to new uses and construction of some buildings. All over the world the need for housing as well for other types of buildings is great. These matters concern contemporary city planning. Very often it is for the architect to decide which of the two alternatives is better to re-use an old existing building having no or small historic value or to build a new one. Once the finest dwelling of a city can be saved from demolition if local authorities are interested in it. Rehabilitation or renewal of such a house sometimes is much cheaper than demolition and building a new one. On a large scale the mentioned problem is being solved in other countries. Some solutions of the problem are being presented in the following articles. The question of implementing a job costing system in a small practice - buildings repair - is discussed. The construction of some new buildings as well as the transportation facilities in cities should be of great interest to the future town planner. Some articles are slightly shortened.
