Abstract
The multimodal is a method of goods transportation when load is carried in the same transport unit but using several different transport modes. The paper discusses the following topics: • justification of necessity to develop the international multimodal transport; • main multimodal transport technologies; • possible stages of the multimodal transport development; • conditions ensuring competitiveness of the main multimodal transport system; • legal maintenance of the main multimodal transport system; • multimodal transport regulation by the state. In addition to the aforementioned problems the international experience in informational maintenance of the multimodal transport is analysed.
