Raising the efficiency of building lifetime with special emphasis on maintenance

Abstract

The problems of creating buildings with efficient lifetime has been analyzed with special emphasis on their maintenance. First, the principles of a complex analysis, functional considerations, cost-benefit ratio optimization, interrelation of sciences, mathematical simulation, etc. had been analysed which enabled the authors to workout various systems of decision-making. In this paper, one of these systems, - „Housing Refurbishment Decision-Making“, is described at length. Also, some ways of achieving more efficient lifetime of a building, with special emphasis on its maintenance are presented.
