Abstract
„Architektūra – sustingusi muzika? Šiuolaikinė architektūra visiškai nesustingusi, tai yra džiazas... Dabar architektūroje skamba toks džiazas... Ir džiazuojama be jokių taisyklių“, – sako moderniosios lietuvių architektūros kūrėjas, architektas, VGTU profesorius ir absolventas Gintaras Čaikauskas. Daugybės reikšmingų garsių architektūrinių projektų autorius tikina, kad kiekvienam kūriniui reikia širdies, atsidavimo ir net fanatizmo. Ir apskritai, be kūrybinio atsidavimo, niekas negimsta.

“Architecture is a stagnant music? Modern architecture is far from stagnant, it’s jazz... Nowadays architecture is full of jazz sounds... Jazz without rules”, – says the creator of modern Lithuanian architecture, architect prof. Gintaras Čaikauskas. Author of numerous significant prominent architectural projects says, that each piece needs a heart, devotion and even fanaticism. And in general, no good piece is born without creative devotion. “My creative method is empathizing with the place, context, task and customer›s expectations. To me, this is the essence. I don’t start creating before I fully understand its essence – if it is a tall, thin, low, and thick skyscraper or an underground building. Architecture, at least for me, is born from the creative tension. Not to mention the competition... Seldom the results are “served on the plate”. Each day at work is kind of a war for the architects: you have as much as you fight for. Sometimes you get the feeling of drawing with blood rather than ink...” says one of the most famous creators of modern architecture.
