Savą miestą kuriantis dizainas

Abstract

Vartotojišką visuomenę šiandien išreiškia ne vien tik daiktai ir jų gausa – vartotojai objektuose mato save, nes vartotojiškumas tapo visa apimančiu gyvenimo būdu. Į tai atsižvelgiama kuriant ir pačių gaminių dizainą – dažnai daiktų forma tampa mados dalyku, o vartotojai naudoja daiktus visai negalvodami apie jų funkciją ar meninę vertę.

Last year VGTU industrial product design students designed objects for the Neris embankment in cooperation with Vilnius City Municipality. They created modern, concordant and practical objects adapted to local and natural context – starting with lights, benches and bike stands, ending with tire pumps, innovative river flow and solar charging stations. 17 best works were selected out of 40 and showcased in Vilnius City Municipality. “The aim of these objects is not just to create something. The academic staff together with the students were aiming at the synergy of the place, the objects created and today’s needs, concepts and requirements for comfort and quality. The aim was also to embrace the identity of these public places, make them not only visible, but also used”, – said the Head of Design Department, dr. J. Jakaitis. After having signed the official agreement in spring between VGTU and Vilnius City Municipality, the joint work on Neris embankment is being continued this year also.
