Abstract

Each year, the research at the University is gaining more importance for the training process and innovations’ development. It is also important in other spheres of life, the research activities naturally becoming the priority at VGTU. The most important scientific event of the decade has been the establishment of the Civil Engineering Research Centre, enabling a significant improvement of the scientific experimental base. With the support of 5.8 million EUR, the Civil Engineering Research Centre has installed the best experimental equipment in all Eastern Europe. Therefore, the University’s scientific activities have reached the higher qualitative level. The next important stage in the research development was the establishment of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Centre in 2014. For the public the impact of the research on innovations, carried out by the University, is very important. Therefore, we have established the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Centre, coordinating the dissemination and promotion of innovations developed at VGTU.
