Manufacturing of welding electrodes in Lithuania
Abstract
The article presents an overview on production of welding electrodes by the Lithuanian company and considers the issues encountered during development and assimilation of new products. The company widely assimilates production of surfacing electrodes. The article also discusses cooperation with scientific institutions on development of new products. The results of research studies are presented. Consistent patterns for transfer of chromium and carbon from the electrode coating into the fused metal, impact of their amounts on transfer of other alloying elements into the alloy are considered. The test results for attrition resistance of hard layers surfaced with newly developed electrodes are given.
